Silverado and Sierra Vibration Problem Leave Drivers Shaken

June 08, 2015
By: Robert Silverman

We have been receiving calls on the 1 800 LEMON LAW hotline form quite a few shaken drivers complaining of vibration problems with the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. And judging from the message boards, this problem has been going on quite a while in 2013 and 2014 models.

According to our ASE certified team of expert mechanics, the vibration stems from the drive train when the vehicle hits 40 miles per hour, and they have yet to see a permanent fix. If you are experiencing a Silverado vibration problem or Sierra vibration issue, it is essential that you bring your vehicle to an authorized manufacturer dealership as soon as possible to be addressed by their service department. If necessary, take the adviser on a test drive so they can verify the condition. Make sure you receive a repair invoices for each visit which clearly outlines the reason for the bringing the vehicle in for repair, as well as any work being performed to address the issue.

If you find yourself at the dealer three or more times, you should reach out a Lemon Law Lawyer in your state to discuss possible remedies. You could possibly receive a complete repurchase, a new vehicle, or significant monetary compensation to reflect the diminished value of the vehicle as a result of the vibration problem. Best of all, if you qualify, the help is 100% cost-free.

Don’t let a vibration issue with your Silverado or Sierra leave you stranded, take action and get back on the road to recovery.

I own a 2015 Chevy 2500 and from day one had vibration issues. The truck has been in the shop 7 times for this issue with no resolution. The service department can’t seem to find any problems and tells me that’s just the way it’s supposed to ride…

@Ricardo: Get back to the dealer and have them try to address this. If they cannot, you have rights. Take advantage of them.

I have a 2016 Silverado same problem. The dealer said I have to have 500 miles on it before they look at the problem. I guess at 500 miles the car fix fairy will fix it. It has 450 miles now.

I have a 2015 6 cylinder 2wd Texas Edition. It only has 7250 miles on it. The vibration is getting worse. Specially when it goes into 4cyl mode. The steering wheel shakes at almost any speed. I have not had time to take it to the dealer because of work. Hopefully I can make time tomorrow. Any suggestions?

Bought new 2016 Sierra 4×4, Z71 approx 3 weeks ago. Had 208 miles on odometer at that time. It now has 600 miles and we took in for service because it is vibrating at 65 mph and up. Noticed in seats but mainly in stealing. They said is was a tire issue. Ordered a new tire. That tire was bad. Ordered tire #2 said that wasn’t the problem now we’re told it needs a new rear end. Unbelievable! A new truck with only 600 miles on it should not need a new rear end. This is a complicated job. They will break away bolts on everything, drive shaft, stings etc will have to be broke down. This could cause problems in the rest of the truck. I ask to get another truck just like this one but they told me gmc would not do that

                          I previously owned a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 6.2 l engine that developed a vibration after approximately 20000 kms.
the vibration was mainly at speeds over 100 km per hour and at 110 km sometimes it would almost make the truck uncontrollable!
After 3 sets of tires and re balance again and again my dealership gave up on the truck saying that there was nothing wrong.
In frustration and concern for the safety of my family i traded the truck off on a 2015 chev only to find out that they immediately shipped the truck to the USA. I assume that this way they would never have to deal with this vehicle again.

Picked up a 2016 Silverado Z71 last week.

Vehicle had 56 miles on it. My test drive I didn’t take it over 70. Noticed considerable shake from 70-80. Also hearing the clunking noise when vehicle goes from V8-V4 and back.

I ran a carfax report on my vehicle and it says just 8-15-16 it was for sale at a different dealer. I’m wondering if that dealer couldn’t sell it due to the shake and I got hosed.

I’ve spent the day researching this and it’s clear I didn’t do enough homework before the purchase. Seems it’s only a percentage of vehicles with this problem, but that it dates back a few years with no resolution from GM.

Needless to say as a father of two young children, having my $40k vehicle shake does not make me feel safe for myself or family.

I get the feeling I will have wasted some hard earned money here.

It’s unfortunate but seems to be the way of the world these days

I own a 2015 v6 Chevy Silverdo. I’ve had vibration issues since I’ve owned it. Been in shop over 30 days that started at appox 3500 miles and currently have 18000 miles. It’s had new shocks, tired, more weights then I can count on tire for balance , rear end diff. I’ve called and emailed GM and they just tell me to go to dearship !!!! I’ve went on test drive with service manager which he agrees this truck rides rough and vibrates and GM of Chevy dealership where I purchased it from (Florida). The GM from dealership said this is all normal for this truck. The truck makes a clunking noise when I’m driving slow under 25 to make a stop and GM of dearship said that’s normal as well ! I paid 40k for this truck and I’m sick to my stomach knowing I own this ! What can I do at this point. The dearship says there is nothing they can do for this truck. It’s operating FINE ! I’m very disappointed at dealership and Chevy Truck.

I bought a 2015 sierra 1500 SLE on April 27th of his year. It was in the shop for vibrations at 165 miles. As of today Oct 2nd it’s been there for 57 days and still no fix. I have put more miles on the loaner cars than my own truck. I called GMC and I’m playing the waiting game.
I can’t believe this is actually happening.

I purchased a completely loaded 2016 sierra 4×4 double cab tax title extended warranty everything out the door was pretty close to $60,000 Now when I test drove the truck I instantly noticed a vibration on the freeway the salesman told me that it was just a simple flat spot in a tire from sitting in the lot sounded reasonable to me he said don’t worry it would be 100% fixed ! Well my truck that I’ve only owned for six weeks has now been back and fourth four times and the last time being for 10 days and the dealer has now put three sets of brand-new tires on the truck and a tested other miscellaneous things and it still has the same vibration and they are now telling me they don’t know what the problem is that I’m going to have to deal with it ! So as of right now I am searching lemon law lawyers ! So if I was you I would stay as far away from any GM product that you can !!!!!!!!!

Yup, I’m driving a vibrater too. 2016 Chevy Silverado Z-71LT Crew Cab- 4 Wheel Drive, 5.3 engine, 18″ tires.. The truck had 275 miles on it when it went back to the dealer for the first time. Then it went back again at about 850 miles because I got something in my tire while driving and the tire sensor told me the left rear was going flat, but it was the left front. While it was in there, they fixed a recall on the airbag and computer sensor. It went back again at about 1300 miles, for the same vibration. Today, the vibration is back with a bonus this time. The downshift in the 30 mph range is very hard at times. It feels like I just ran over a 2 x 4. It also “stutters” sometimes on the up shift. There is a “new” vibration while slowing down in the 20 mph range.

I purchased a new 2015 Silverado 1500 5.3L in September of 2015 and ever since I’ve owned the vehicle it’s had vibration issues from 60mph to 74mph. I haven’t taken it to the shop yet only because I have put about 38000 miles on it in just over a year. I feel like they might tell me it has the issue because of the mileage. I know it is the drive shaft but I don’t want to fix it myself and then end up ruining my truck. Any suggestions?

@Mr. Foote: You have done yourself a huge disservice by not taking it to the dealer as it appears you now are outside your 3 year/36000 miles warranty. I would get the matter diagnosed as soon as possible. Perhaps, there is a TSB or Powertrain issue that can be addressed.

I just purchased a 2016 GMC SIERRA 2 wheel drive SLT pickup with the Crew Cab and the 6 1/2 foot bed. It test drove good around town but after purchasing it and getting it on the highway, I noticed a substantial vibration between 70 & 80 mph. Took it back to the dealer on Monday October 31, 2016 to have the bed liner sprayed in. Mentioned to them the vibration problem. The sales rep. had one of their techs test drive it and he agreed the vibration was substantial. They balanced the right rear tire and said it appeared to be better. They also mentioned that this is a truck and I should expect some vibration! When I test drove it, it didn’t really feel any better. I plan to take it out on a smooth section of highway in the morning to see how it rides.
One thing I thought I noticed was that at 75mph on smooth flat surface my truck was vibrating substantially but I sensed when I started going up hill, it seemed like the vibration began to subside. I plan to try this again in the morning to see if i can repeat it. I was wondering if anyone out there experienced similar changes?

Has anyone checked the pinion to transmission angles?

Has anyone compared the pinion to transmission angles of the trucks shaking versus trucks that don’t shake?

Has anyone placed a load in the bed to see if it makes any difference in the vibration?

I wish us all well with coming up with a resolution.

I have had my 2016 Silverado 1500 for 9800 miles, with the same interstate vibration mentioned several times on this page. Dealer has balanced tires countless times, replaced the entire wheel/ tire package once with latest balance performed 2 days ago and actually made it worse. This all boils down to harmonics and the dealerships are aware of the problem, they just have no support from GM. Funny thing is as mentioned, my truck has been to the same dealer on several occations for this problem and they state there is only one service ticket mentioning a vibration. Just a way for them to attempt to cover their butts. They now have two documented service tickets and I am scheduling it again today to go back in for service to make three service tickets which means, lemon law time.

I even bought a new set of rims and tires, had them load balanced, and no change in vibration at 60 and faster. I always thought it was the aggressive mud tires i had on the truck but I guess not. I have been driving a longer distance to work on highway, so thought I should get a smoother set of tires. It doesn’t help one bit. I am disappointed after reading all the others with the same problem and not getting any fixes. Guess I should have stuck with Dodge like my last few trucks

I bought my 2016 Silverado Z71 4X4 Crew Cab (Close to 60 grand)Mine was vibrating on the day I purchased it. I got it in writing and signed document stating the vibration would be REMOVED from the vehicle. The truck has been at the service department 4 times at least and 3 of those times I turned around and brought it right back because the issue was not fixed. Service department cannot fix so they insist that the problem doesn’t exist yet tires have been replaced and even a case opened with GM who sent a field tech to place sensors throughout the truck to measure the vibration and they say the vibration is within specifications to deal with it. But of course they appraised my $57,000.00 purchase at $34,000.00 and would like me to pick another truck and roll over all that negative equity. How does a brand new truck with less than 3000 miles lose $25,000.00 in value within a few weeks? Believe me, I will definitely be seeking legal assistance with this. DO NOT TAKE THIS LYING DOWN !!!

Going in to have it serviced on 11/29/16. Guess I will be calling attorney Monday since there are so many people having the same issues. Sounds like another class action law suite against GM. These engineers and people need to be held accountable for producing unsafe vehicles. Prices keep going up and the quality continues to decline.

Then is getting much worse. I have18,000 on it now. I haven’t had it to the garage yet. Doesn’t sound like I am going to get anywhere with this case, but I suppose I have to take it in to make my case. My vibration starts at around 40 and it used to go away around 60. Now it doesn’t matter. It shakes the steering wheel. It is somewhat of a harmonic vibration. It sort of acts like a wheel bearing or the driveline. It doesn’t matter if you are coasting or under power. In gear or out. Doesn’t matter. Just saying. Good luck.

Very disappointed and frustrated if I put out a product or service this bad I would be out or business by now. It seems this has been an issue with GM trucks and can not fixed or will not be addressed correctly. I believe this to be a safety issue that will only get worse as the life of the truck moves along. If I can’t get my wife to drive truck on freeway because of her and kids not feeling safe then what a waste of my money and time. It’s not as if my wife is used to driving BMW’s all we ever have had is GM SUV’s and trucks this being the 3rd Silverado. Should have kept the 2011 would have been better off.

It was a loaner vehicle at the dealership, so it had around 4,000 miles on it. Two weeks after we purchased it, we noticed that when we were sitting at a red light it would start to vibrate slightly. The vibration would stop when we put it in neutral. This continued to get worse over the next week so he took it back to the Young Chevrolet’s service center where we purchased it. They noticed the vibration. Kept it for a few days. We picked it up and it seemed fine for about 10 miles. Then this started again. We have had this truck for less than 3 months and it’s been back at the dealership about as much as we have had it ourselves. Taking it back in again tomorrow, January 3, and leaving it once again. The service manager said that if we bring it in enough times that they can go to GM and request a new vehicle, but it’s a process they have to go through. This is ridiculous.

This thing has a mind of its own. Time to get council for lemon law. I won’t be buying a Chevrolet again I know that much.

Our truck is a 2015 and we have told them every time we take it in, there is a issue. The shop says the same thing they don’t feel it because they take it for a short drive. I guess they all had a class on what to say. Sometimes we have a big cluck when backing up and transmission has always shifted funny.(Never have they addressed that but its normal)
After many trips they finally starting trying to fix it and some of it has gone away but not all. Since we now have another issue with the radio screen blacken out and the back up camera staying on no signal lights that was address to them several times but sense its not doing it when you take it in or check engine light not on nothing wrong.
Now just over a year old we have a bad battery and sensor.

My husband driving home one night lost inside lights, radio screen no signal lights.(Hazard lights would work) The next morning he got in wouldn’t crack.. Had to jump it to get it to the dealer.

Since I have been doing my homework about this truck and lemon law. State of SC says the first 12 months or 12,000 miles. So are they giving all of us the run around til you hit the 12 month or 12,0000 miles? Even though every time you take it in they say they don’t feel it. And there’s nothing wrong.
When the whole time its all over the internet and on there site. So they knew there was a problem, all those times we have taken it in and looked at us like we were crazy.

I noticed a strange humming noise on the way home from buying it while coasting around 40mph. I ended up just blowing it off and chalking it up to general road noise. The sound continued and became very annoying. At about 1600 miles the truck started to shutter / jerk while accelerating . I decided to take it in while it was still under warranty. Dealership had it for a week. They told me that it was the Exhaust system, so they changed out the entire exhaust system. Picked it up And barely drove a 100 yd before the noise started again. I turned around and dropped it back off for a second time. They ended up having my truck for about 20days when I decided to start a lemon law claim. It took them almost 3 weeks to get an engineer to come down for a final repair attempt. By this point, the truck had been at the dealership for well over 30 days . I kept insisting to the gm case worker that I was assigned, that my truck was a lemon according to florida law. She argued and said that I just left the truck there and that none of those days counted. One new exhaust system, entire rear end, and a torque converter later they finally admitted that the truck was a lemon. They ended up having my truck for around 60 days before they admitted it. I was also not offered any kind of courtesy vehicle during this period. They are now a repurchasing my truck for the entire purchase price plus interest on payments.

When pulling my horse or other trailer, and braking downhill, the truck starts shimmying so bad it feels like the front end is going to fall apart. Have to get off the brakes and use other method to slow down. Told dealership about it for over 3 years, still no solution. Talked with GM, they said to take it back to dealer because no one had ever went for a test ride with me. Very disgusting and from looking at all these complaints they can’t seem to solve the problem. This is the last Chevrolet truck I will ever buy.

New driveshaft, reversed drive shaft, balanced drive shaft, 17″wheels, 18″ wheels, 20″ wheels, new Michelins, new rear end, the list goes on. After 14 months they made me an inexpensive way to get into a 2015. It was more than fair and GM tried their best. BUT the new 2015 has the same shake. It’s worse when pulling my boat. Was told it was probably flat spotted tires from sitting. I put 500 miles on it in 4 days just so I could take it in for them to look at it. 3 of 4 tires were out of balance and 2 needed road forced. They called me to come in to drive it with the tech and the tired must not have been the problem still same harsh vibration bbetween 40-50 mph. The vibration got worse when I hauled my trailer. Left it with them again so they could hook it up to the picoscope to hopefully isolate the problem but I doubt it.

Now July 2017 still under warranty brought in with only13000 miles for same issue, they have had it a week ,balance tires, drive shaft still shakes they now have the ring and pinion gears out. if this don’t fix I will turn to lemon law or a GMC buy out. My husband took the truck into Pittsburgh and noticed the vibration immediately. Dropped the truck off at the dealership on 7-31-17, It is now 8-18, they still have the truck. We are getting the same party line that everyone seems to be receiving. They tore the rear end out and said it was too much play in the gears, then they tried 24 tires, then we were told it was a bearing. I was told we are now waiting for a GM engineer to come and inspect our vehicle. We have always been a loyal Chevy family, but no longer. When we dropped the truck off the General Manager at the dealership assured us that they would make it right, whether it was to refund our investment, find us a new truck, or fix this one. Well not one of the 3 promises has come to fruition yet.

After researching, I found out the problem lis in the torc converter. Also wrong transmission fluid used. Have to double flush transmission and recalibrate gears. So far this has stopped the vibration. If, comes back torc converter has to be replaced with new “updated” one. Seems this was caused by the mandatory mph requirement, converters were not updated which in turn throws off calibrations of gears. At least this how I understood it. Good luck !!

About 1000 miles ago I started noticing a shaking/shuddering (steering wheel, seats, pedals, body and bed) when accelerating between 45-70 mph ~5 sec intervals. Something is not right between computer and transmission, when it does it, the RPM gauge fluctuates up and down and seems to do it whether in V4 or V8 mode. Same issue whether in tow mode or not. to the point of serious jerking when on incline with light acceleration. If I stomp on it, it goes away…sort of. I was first told during my last service (not sure if they drove it enough to see what really was going on) this was normal for this truck with the shifting from V4-V8 and a random thunk sound while it is shifting when coming to a stop or taking off. I have been driving this truck for almost 2 yrs and know what is normal and what is not. Strange thing is it sort of comes and goes, but now it back worse than ever, This constant vibration/shuddering makes driving this truck miserable. making an appointment now to have this readdressed.

Took it to the dealer service dept. about a week after I bought it and had the front passenger side axel replaced. 4 days later had bad vibration and they replace 3 tires. Took it back in August for vibration and they said it was fixed. It wasn’t ! Just took it back again October 12th , picked it up on the 17th. They replaced 2 more tires. Said it was fixed and road tested. Drove it home and still had vibration. Took it right back the same day. Now they put sensors on the truck and drove it . Now waiting on GM to tell them what to do next.

I ordered a 2016 silverado crew cab, z71, 6.5 box with 6.2L. I have factory 22″ tires. Vibration started about 15. Factory rotated and balanced tires, turned around and said vibration still there, they then had it for 3 days trying to balance a tire (supossedly). They said the had to order a new tire and pro rate me $100. After I thought about it, I shouldnt have had to pay for that!. Anyway, vibration is back, 26k on it (40-80mph). Not sure about anyone else, but truck allso rides rough as hell, lots of wheel hop. Will be going back and showing them this thread. Then go back one more time befor 36k, then higher an attorney I guess.

Noticed the vibration and was so disappointed to find all these different threads explaining the same issue. On rare occasions, the truck rides smooth as glass. If I get on it hard, the truck shutters and it seems like the transmission is slipping. When I called a GMC dealer, they tried to persuasively tell me it was a tire issue and that GM will only offer a pro-rated amount for new tires for the fix and given the mileage, it wasn’t worth bringing it in! I let them know its not the tires and its at the dealer today. I’m sure I will be pressing them to investigate the issues with multiple visits before I hit 36,000.

Test drive with salesman showed vibration at all speeds. Told him needs tire balance or check the vibration. Picked up the vehicle next day (1st week in Dec) he assured me that it was done and everything ok. I’m 80 years old, traded a perfectly good 2015 2500 to make it easier to get in and out of. Talked to a service manager at another dealership and he told me that all the half tons have the vibration problem and even his 2017 shakes so bad it spills his coffee. He informed me that GM is working on the problem but has no fix yet. I have been GM owner since 19 years old and really disappointed to this point. It is not a pleasure to drive and unless they fix the problem this is the last GM product for me. The only positive thing is I have less than 500 miles on it and my city MPG is 17.4 with the 6.2L.

Pulling a trailer at these speeds really increases the vibration. Just returned from the dealership and 2 new tires no improvement. From everything I have read it will probably only get worse. Have a friend that works for GM one year from retirement and lemon law lawyer both said dump it. Employees at the dealership hardly acknowledge there is a issue or have never heard of this at all. This is my 5th Silverado and probably my last. Please inform everyone possible of this issue. Good luck to all buyers involved I feel your pain.

Roads at the time were snow covered so I chalked it up to that. After 4000 kms it is obviously vibrating. Going into the dealer tomorrow. After reading all these posts, I am sick to my stomach. Don’t know what recourse we have in Canada.

This is the main culprit of most of these issues I am reading about. What’s happening is when the motor drops to 4 cyl and the driver hits the gas but only a small amount. The truck tries to accelerate but the computer has not yet told it to go back to 8 cyl yet. So with truck using only 4cyl of power it will shake and bog until it makes it back to 8 cyls. Now. I too have a 2011 Silverado that shakes. My solution is drive it in manual 5 and leave it there. It then shuts down the AFM. Again I am almost certain it ties back to the AFM design in the engine. GM needs to leave the engines alone. I bought and want a V8. An all time V8 !!! Now they are talking about making it drop to only 1 cylinder…lol oh boy. They just don’t get it. And I just got done with a tranny. Torque converter swap out this week. Truck has 82000 miles on it. Pre mature for a non hauler? Heck yeah. These new tranny’s are crap. To much going on in them. GM needs to head back to basics to fix these ussues. I rented a 2018 Colorado during the swap out. Brand new! Damn thing when shifting into drive or reverse it made the whole truck jerk. But only when I used the automatic starter. Either way this is my last GM vehicle for certain. Granted all these car companies have their issues. But GM takes the Cake. But hey as long as the truck looks good who cares…ha!!!

Shaking from day one. Problem was the dealer told me they were not allowed to do anything more than Road Force Balance, until GM sent them a “pico” tool. 10k miles later, they finally look at it, by the way, they didn’t use nor have said tool when looking at the issue. Found the rear diff was “missing” shims or had excessive plan. After the third rear end rebuild the truck still was shaking. I would say the first 10k miles of the faulty rear end caused other issues. That I got tired of dealing with, like the radio not work, the hvac not working. The truck randomly cutting out with no warning. I only wish I hired a lawyer sooner, and got more from the settlement.

For someone that drives a lot of highway miles, it is brutal on the body after a 3-hour ride. Also, if Chevy doesn’t think it’s a safety issue, try changing lanes at night when your looking into the rearview or side mirrors & all you see is squiggly lines.. plus we buy American cubicles only to find out their made in Mexico.. Time to go back to a Toyota. At least they replaced my frame when it rotted out.. Chevy refuses to fix this safety problem. Cutting my losses with Chevy & buy a Toyota!!!!

It had a vibration and the salesperson said because of it sitting it has a flat spot. My truck came with 2 year 24000, free service and every time I took it to the shop I told them about the vibration and they balanced and rotated the tires but the vibration was still there. After 24000 mile again I took it for service and told them it still is vibrating. After a few times telling them they told me they forced balanced the tires, kinda made better but after a my trip home it came right back. So I finally asked them to really look at this problem. So my truck was in their shop for over a month. They replaced the drive shaft, then they had the new shaft rebalanced. then they said the rear differential was the problem, so after another 2 weeks the service manager called and said that he thought it was better but still had a small vibration. So I went to pick it up and test drove it and nope it was now worse because the vibration was still there but now at speeds from 52 to 68 it makes a high pitch whining noise then you can’t hear again until 85 mph and high. I even took the GM for a ride and when showed him the whining he said the it’s the rear differential making that noise. So after all of that the service manager said there was nothing else they could do. He even said that there are other customers with there trucks vibration worse then mine and their not complaining. The GM told me that he called General Motors and they told him that I didn’t qualify for lemon, or buyback. But they would give me 5000.00 more for my truck is worth to purchase a new 2018 truck. But when test driving 2 different new trucks one with 50 miles and the other with 130 miles they both had a really noticeable vibration. So I Said no thank you to that. I need help.

Nothing to worry about. Hym. Driving in 7th no problem and they said it won’t hurt anything. Bought that range AFM module to lock into v8 mode. That keeps in v8 but still has the vibration in 8th gear. SO transmission must be the problem in the 8th speed. So now what?…Live with it I guess. G

At 3,000 miles I had the Infotainment center reflashed to allow for the rear camera brightness to be adjusted

I was also still complaining about the transmission acting up, hash downshifts from 2-1 and shutter/fishbite in top gear under 1500 rpms —Per Bulletin #4944111 they removed the pan, found metal in pan, they flushed the fluid and replace the Torque Converter.

8/21/18—17, 681 miles. Truck was taken back to the dealer again for the transmission shutter/downshift issues (again). This time they dropped the pan and found more metal in the pan, so they “rebuilt” the transmission and replace the converter again.

9/19/18— 18,476 Miles. Transmission still shuttering in lockup, when climbing a hill (feels like a miss, and even stores misfire codes in Mode 6 on several different cylinders), not every time when coasting from 30 mph to a stop when it shifts from 2-1 around 18mph you will swear someone has run into the back of you if downshifts so hard.
They also replaced the Passenger Rear Shock under Warranty for leaking (now at 25k the Drivers side is starting to leak)
They never found anything on this last check, told me to keep driving it, until it gets worse.

At the end of December of 2018 I took the truck back to the dealer one last time and they rechecked the ECM and Trans for the latest Flash updates. Everything was up to date already (which I already knew). Just before this I had replaced the MAF because the levels on the scanner was low at idle. Replaced with the new Delco one and the levels are 4.9 at idle., and checked the airbox for the damage per TSB and no damage found.

My fuel mileage is still out of wack, 15-16 mpg average. (My ’99 5.3 silverado got better than this)
Before replacing the MAF my long term fuel trims on both banks were -28 now after they are both roughly -9 to -13 (every other vehicle I have checked the fuel trims are +5 to +7 more in line with GDI specs). The truck still seems to be missing under load and under 1500 rpms in top gear. But no check engine light.

Same vibration as everyone above stated, along with terrible ride quality, which seems to be getting worse (currently at 65,000 miles). Dealership has told me three times it was related to a bent rim and tires that were unevenly worn. Rim was “fixed,” all 4 tires were road force balanced, and after 3 visits, the vibration is still there. Annoyingly, there are times it rides smooth as silk. But other times I can’t keep a cup in the cup holder without it spilling or falling out. And it has nothing to do with the roads…good or bad it vibrates.

It also is a 2018 GMC Denali 4 x 4 they said what’s wrong with it. I said her seat does not vibrate so we need to get it fixed so it does. the 3rd time I took it to the dealer they said they filled out a field survey through GM. now this was last July and I have not heard anything from the dealer or GM. both trucks are the same. I have had this issue the entire time. Wish I would have known this before now. Chevy sales persons, mechanics, management, corporate and all the rest I have talked to about this issue have all tried to tell me that there is nothing wrong. Well I could put a cup with a drink in cup holder and when I get to certain speed like 70-80 it will look as if my drink is boiling in cup holder.

Of the hundred thousand or so specific complaints, most fit one of a few general pattern defects. Going from specific to general in viewing the problem, this gets put in the group of multiple variables at work where the engineers fail to comprehend the interrelatedness of each component and each subsystem to the others. Its a small detail most often overlooked due to a lack of comprehension of the whole as a fluid thing. In Redneck Speak we say they cannot find their ass with both hands. Here is my path to solving so many automobile problems no one else found: 1) Bitching aside, gather the facts about the complaint. 2) Research it based on information from the internet and elsewhere and use good sense to qualify some and disregard the better part of what is found. 3) You arrive at the solution 90% of the time and its solved. So sorry, this one is in the other 10%. 4) So now you go from the specific to the general: find the problem’s family. Be scientific in your reasoning here, not emotional. In today’s instance we have yet again run aground on a situation where the engineers have altered many aspects under pressure to produce it more efficiently and to higher standards. They did it but fell short on unanticipated side effects. It could be a different choice of material, overstressing an individual component, ignorance of interactions of bound components having different thermal expansion rates, and so on. 5) Now lets go hunting: you want a problem which may appear no way related to this from that same problem family which has clearly been solved. Employ 20-20 vision here on that problems solution looking backward to obtain its answer. 6) Take the answer from specific in that case to general. 7) Overlay that generalized solution to today’s specific challenge. 8) If this gets you to the answer, good for you! You just learned your brain is qualified to use fluid intelligence. Please remember how to do it. As for the rest of you, yeah, okay, I’m just a dumbass and “don’t know nothing.”
