Are you a Kia Sorrento driver experiencing power steering problems? Do you seem to be having alignment issues? You may remember our previous 2011 blog post regarding alignment issues with Hyundai Sonata models.Throughout the past year, numerous Hyundai drivers have complained that their Sonatas are constantly pulling to the right or left, resulting in uneven tire wear and other problems. As you can imagine, we have had numerous distressed drivers call into 1 800 LEMON LAW with this problem, and we have successfully resolved numerous claims surrounding the situation.

Now this problem is spreading and numerous Kia Sorento drivers are also complaining of their vehicles pulling to the left or right. It seems that the electronic power steering system is very similar in both the Hyundai and Kia models, resulting in numerous drivers experiencing  Kia Sorento steering problems.

If you are in the shop three or more times because your Kia Sorento cannot stay straight on the road, it is important that you look into your rights under State Lemon Laws or federal Warranty Laws. You could be looking into a new car, a complete repurchase or monetary compensation and continued ownership of the vehicle.  And best of all, under both the Lemon Law and Federal Magnuson Moss Warranty Act, legal representation is completely cost-free to the consumer.

If you are dealing with Kia Sorento steering problems, call 1 800 LEMON LAW or click here to find a Lemon law Lawyer in your state.

I own a 2013 KIA SORENTO SX. It has steering issues and I strongly believe it is not safe. it has been in for service numerous times and they deny any known steering problems.

I have a 2013 Kia Sorento that pulls to the right especially when it accelerates. Took it in for an alignment, they put in a camber adjustment kit. Didn’t fix the problem.

Bought a 2012 Kia Sorento from Kia dealership in 2013. Have taken the vehicle into the dealership at least 3 times for alignment – always pulls to the right. I’ve owned many cars and this is not a normal occurrence.

@Keith: I agree with that. You should look into your rights as you may have a claim under Federal law. Visit https://www.lemonlaw.com/lemon-law-firm.html to find a lemon law firm in your state to discuss the matter.

2011 Kia Sorento with 45,572 miles, pulls hard to the right. Had alignment checked and realigned by reputable GM dealership I’ve done business with for 40+ years. No difference.
Two area Kia dealers near Rochester, NY just tell you to “bring it in”.
It appears they don’t care about all the complaints and comments I’ve seen on then same issue on the Internet. Called the Kia manufacturer number, and the take the same stance.

I recently leased a 2016 Sorento from Kia of West Nyack. I had steering problems where the car would sway back and forth on a flat straight road causing me to make adjustments to keep the car straight. It almost has the feeling of riding a bicycle with loose handlebars. I K miles at bought it in for service. They kept the car for a week performing multiple wheel alignments. After service was completed I still experience the same issue and have tried several times over the past month to bring the car back in for service they don’t don’t seem to have the time or loaners. The service manger TONY at West Nyack lied to me as said he would have a loaner car for me this morning at 7:30am so they can service the car. When I arrived at the service dept they blew me off as if they never spoke to me before about the issue and had no loaner car for me at the time. beside this issue the radio continues to go out due to no signal. Very annoying!! This car only has 3k miles and I’m ready to return it for good. Poor performing car + poor service = no repeat business.

I just purchased a 2014 sorrento and I am experiencing the exact same problems. I also took my vehicle in and requested it be looked at. I was told it drove normal and I just needed to get use to driving it. Your description is the exact way I would describe the steering. When driving in a straight line I feel it pulls back and forth from right to left causing me to constantly correct. Please let me know if you have any updates on the problem. Thank you

Have a 4 month old Kia Sorento with a problem in the eps. Dropped it off at Kia and they say it’s going to be a month to fix the eps. No loaner and had to go to enterprise to rent a car. It’s on Kia but we still had to pay for a security deposit and got a piece of crap Jeep renegade with a 1/4 tank of gas and 4 tires on the brink of not passing inspection. I am pissed of.

I have a 2015 Kia Sorento LX (4cyl). It seems to drift right, and sometimes left at 55+ mph. It never seems to hold a straight line. I have brand new Tires on it and have taken it to Evans Kia dealership for alignments 3 times. The mechanic test drove it, and he says that it seems to be loose as well. He compared it to driving a boat that drifts. The mechanic and service technician do not have a suggestion to fix the problem, and that I will have to get used to driving it like that. I am reluctant to drive it on long trips because the constant drifting makes it unbearable to enjoy driving it, in fact I feel like this kia is dangerous to drive because of the constant drifting both right and left on flat roads. Has anyone had similar issues?

I have a 2014 kia sorento LX and a few weeks after I bought it, it had some knocking issue when u slightly turn the wheel left or right and anything type of highway driving has a very hard right steering problem to the point where it’s becoming dangerous because trying to compensate that hard right makes me sway alot. I’ve done numerous of things that dosent seem to work at all unless I switch my control panel to on and off then back on after a few seconds which does the trick just for a few miles before I encounter issues again, I’ve changed all 4 tires and even tried changing all my fuses and nothing seems to fix it, I hate my car!!!!!!!!!

I have a 2011 Kia Sorento. We thought the Kia was out of alignment but after alignment it was no different–still pulls to the right. We are very discouraged. Now the steering is getting very hard and the drivers side door will not open. We will Never get another Kia.
