Northeastern PA Lemon Law Clinic A Huge Success!

February 22, 2007 By: LemonLaw Category: Lemon Law Seminar No Comments →

Thanks to all the folks who turned out last night for our WBRE On Your Side Car Buying and Lemon Law Clinic. The response was overwhelming, and the audience’s questions and comments were also very insightful. While many consumers know the lemon law exists, many do not know how it works or how it applies to their particular situation. Seminars like this one provide a wonderful forum to reach out to consumers and educate them on their rights. Many thanks to WBRE Consumer Reporter Jeff Chirico, who did an awesome job coordinating and moderating the event, as well as everyone behind the scenes at WBRE News. Thanks also go out to Laurie Langan and the wonderful folks at Boscovs Wilkes Barre Store for their tremendous hospitality.

If you are based in PA, NJ, DE, MA, MD or OH and are interested in hosting a free lemon law clinic in your area, contact Michael Sacks, our Director of Communications and Client Services at msacks@lemonlaw.com.

By the way, if you are thinking of buying a used car, check out Jeff’s TV report from earlier this week. It covers all the bases, no matter what state you live in.

Northeastern PA Lemon Law Seminar Scheduled for 2/21

February 09, 2007 By: LemonLaw Category: Lemon Law Seminar No Comments →

If you live in Wilkes Barre or the surrounding areas of Northeastern Pennsylvania, we invite you to join us for a free lemon law and car buying seminar featuring K&S Partner Craig Kimmel. The Law Clinic will take place Wednesday, February 21st at 7pm at Boscov’s Department Store, 15 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. The event will be hosted by Jeff Chirico, consumer reporter for WBRE TV, and will be held in the fourth floor auditorium.

Under State and Federal Laws, consumers are entitled to seek recourse from automobile manufacturers if their cars are in the shop for the same problems three or more times under original or extended warranty, or if their car is in the shop thirty or more days within the first year. This recourse can include a new car or full or partial refund. In addition, the laws provide consumers with free legal representation as they battle against the billion-dollar automobile manufacturers. The seminar will outline consumers’ rights. Topics to be discussed include the definition of a lemon and steps to file a lemon law claim.

In addition to outlining the laws, car-buying tips will also be discussed. While there are no surefire ways to prevent the sale of lemons, there are a few ways consumers can protect themselves. Mr. Kimmel will share five rules to remember when buying a new or used car.

Admission is free but reservations are suggested. To reserve your space, call 1-800-LEMON-LAW ext. 131.
